Oh So Silly

It's that time of the week again for another photo challenge!  This week's theme is all about being silly.  We sure have plenty of those pics all over the place, but this one makes me LOL every time I look at it.  I was trying to get a sweet picture and asked Drew to whisper something to Mackenzie to make her laugh.  I don't know what he said, but the result was this look on both of their faces:

Oh silly children.  I love you so!

Heartland Bridal Show part 2

As we posted earlier, we had the pleasure of participating in the Heartland Bridal Show in Sebring, FL earlier this week.  It was great for us to get out and do so much marketing and meet a lot of brides!  We also met a lot of awesome vendors, and I'll have to compile a list of them and their contact information.  But for now, I got some great shots of some of their booth set ups.

The creativity of these vendors was amazing!  There were so many different styles and great ideas out there.  I hope future brides and grooms take note of some of these ideas.  For example, check out the table cloth that was once a wedding dress!  How awesome would that be on a cake table?  Or on a head table?  I know most of us will never wear our mothers' dresses, but think of all the other ways you could put them to use.  You can even use some of the fabric to wrap around your bridal bouquet.

And speaking of bouquets, check out the variety of floral arrangements.  I made paper carnations out of lime green tissue paper as an inexpensive way to match our vibrant studio colors.  I also made felt and fabric flowers to go with it.  Another vendor made a huge arrangement out of scrap-booking paper and card stock that was stunning!  There were traditional arrangements, some with pin lights and uplighting, and my favorite - the fresh white hydrangeas and green mums with green crystals.

My point in all of this is that weddings can be as varied as people.  There are a million ways to get married and a million types of budgets.  At the end of the day, it is still a wedding, and you are still married to the person that you love.  It is hard to remember that and keep it in check when you stress over a ton of little details and grand budgets.  It is entirely possible to have an awesome wedding on a small budget with some heart and creativity.  And you know what's best about the creativity?  It really shows off the personality of the couple.  A wedding full of love and creativity is better than a cookie cutter wedding any day.

Of course, as always, pictures are a huge part of your day.  When everything else is gone in the whirlwind of the day, pictures are all that's left to remind you of all of those details!

By the Book

Fancy Nancy comes to life and has a reading adventure.

The Heartland's Premier Bridal Show

We had the pleasure of getting to do our first bridal show in Sebring, FL yesterday.  It was at the Highlands County Fair Convention Center, and it was fabulous!  We got to meet a lot of great vendors and brides and grooms, and I hope that we really got our name out there.  Here's a look at our booth that we put together, and I think that the bright colors and eclectic, whimsical feel really show off our personality and style.  The backdrop is made out of pages from romance novels, and we decided to go with a whole "love story" theme. Check it out and let us know what you think!
