Kimberly & Bryan - SW FL Portrait Photographer

I had the pleasure to photograph this wonderful couple a few months back. They were so cute together!  I got several really awesome images from their mini session, and I just wanted to share a few with everyone.  Enjoy!

Differentiated Photography

Differentiated?  What's that?  Well, it's this fancy word I had to learn while I was earning a fancy degree that I am proud to have but don't use.  It just means different.  Different forms of photography in this case.  I posted a hand picture earlier this week and wanted to post more of them because - 1) They are awesome and 2) They look crazy all put next to one another.  There is everything from landscapes to worship, to teeth, flowers, and brand new babies.  Our hands tell important stories about us and where we have been.  Some of us (ME) even talk with our hands.

It's an awesome reminder that it is great to focus on the details and the little things in life.  Details are important.  Photography isn't always about the smiles and eyes and faces.  Go out and take the time to look around you and gather in your surroundings.  See the details that make life matter.  And go kiss your loved ones!

Welcome Packets

For the past several weeks, I have been working on kickin' it up a notch at the studio.  I really want to show a level of professionalism and for our customers to have the best experience possible.  I want their sessions to be experiences from beginning to end.  We do this now, but even more, I want them to associate us with art, quality, and our brand.  We are special and unique, and I want to reassure them of this point.  SOOOO...I have been working on all of our branding and marketing materials.  Here is part of the welcome packet that goes out to our customers once they book with us.  I just love the way they turned out, and I can't wait to put the whole shebang together!

A Touch of Whimsy

This week's theme for the i heart faces photo challenge is whimsical.  I think I should change my photo studio's name to whimsical!  I love props and fantasy portraits.  I sit children on giant moons and have a collection of fairy wings in the closet.  So whimsical is a perfect fit for me.  The hardest part about the theme is choosing a picture.

For my recent adventure, I decided I needed a carousel horse.  Yes, an actual giant horse.  (One that's painted - not one that eats and breathes.)  And yes, we found one and trucked it home with some help.  Thank goodness my hubby is a strong man.  Poor thing will probably be even stronger when all is said and done because he has had to drag the horse, now named Sandy courtesy of my daughter, in and out of the house several times.  And I'm just getting started.

I debated about entering a picture of my daughter "performing" acrobat moves on top of Sandy, but for some reason, I just kept coming back to this shot of the lovely Onnilee.  I was fortunate enough to get to work with her to build a modeling portfolio earlier in the week.  And inspite of the heat, we got some great shots!  She was willing to do whatever I asked - even if that meant modeling in a field during midday 100+ degree FL heat in high heels, a formal gown, and a feather mask - with a horse.  Can you imagine?
